This workshop was conducted in collaboration with CRES (Consortium for Economic and Social Research) and IPAR (Initiative Prospective Agricole et Rurale) in Senegal. The workshop in January introduced participants to evidence synthesis, knowledge translation, systematic reviews, meta-analyses and the GRADE framework. The participants comprised Economists, an Anthropologist, Statisticians, and a medical doctor from Senegal and one from Burkina Faso. A total of 16 participants attended, 6 of whom were of female gender (38%). Dr. Ekwaro A. Obuku and Dr. Mariam Dahir (Franza Fanon Univeristy, Somaliland) of the African Centre, Makerere University, Uganda, facilitated the training. The theme of the training was “Non-Sewed System Sanitation & Fecal Sludge Management”, a joint project to guide implementation of water, hygiene and sanitation in West Africa.
