The Africa Centre MakCHS has established the COVID-19 Pandemic Rapid Evidence Synthesis Group (COVPRES). This is a group of multidisciplinary scientists in East Africa who have come together in a synergy to identify and synthesize credible evidence around the SARS-Cov 2 virus and COVID-19 pandemic, relevant to low and middle-income countries.

COVPRES reflects a social and biomedical view of health in its totality. Thus, the team is multidisciplinary and includes Sociologists, Psychologists, Public Health Specialists, Virologists, Immunologists, Pharmacologists, Laboratory Scientists, Medical Doctors, Epidemiologists, Health Systems Specialists, Research Business Managers, Policy Analysts and Policy Actors. Further, members are at different levels of their careers ranging from graduate students to Faculty, providing opportunity for mentorship.
